Hi, I’m Todd from Savvy Codex. I'm not just a Website Designer, I'm a combination of that with years of Help Desk Experience and a Social Work Degree.  When I say, "I enjoy helping people. "  it's not a sales pitch, I really do enjoy seeing people do well.  That being said...can we talk?

If you’re feeling a little overwhelmed about building or updating a website, you’re not alone. A lot of good business owners feel that way. You’re great at what you do — websites and online tools just might not be your thing. That’s okay. That’s why I’m here.

I’m not going to throw confusing tech terms at you. And I’m not here to pressure you with big promises. My job is simply to guide you through the process step-by-step and make it as clear and stress-free as possible.

You probably already know your online presence could use some attention — otherwise you wouldn’t be here. These days, not having a website is a bit like not being listed in the phone book years ago. People look online first. And yes, I’ve been in tech long enough to remember when the phone book mattered.

The good news? This doesn’t have to be complicated. I’ll handle the technical side. I’ll explain things in plain English. And we’ll move at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

Why should I use Savvy Codex to create my website?
Maybe you created your own website and the design didn't turn out quite how you anticipated, or you have an outdated website that needs to be updated but you don't want to spend a lot. For us, quality and good service do not have to be expensive. We are committed to helping small businesses and have long standing success and many happy clients.

In the 90's it was enough just to have a static design that was professional and reliable for success.  Today, a website needs to be those things, but to be "useful" and "seen", it needs to be dynamic.  That is called Search Engine Optimization, what that means in plain English is:  The internet has evolved into a sea of information, getting people to your business is now the big challenge. 
 
Can't I just do this on my own?
Yes. I believe you can.  You're smart enough to run a small business and specialized in your field.  If you are willing to spend about 3-6 months educating yourself over the course of a year (by my rough estimation) you should be able to create your own basic website and be familiar with all the aspect of what goes on behind the scenes with today's online marketing.

Long story short::  I realized, while consulting at Allied Signal, that most people I work for simply do not have the time nor the inclination to do that.  They are simply too busy doing what they do best and trusted people like myself to guild them through technical projects and issues.
 
What's included in the monthly service fee?
The monthly service fee includes hosting, SSL certificate, ongoing maintenance and support for our clients to ensure that their websites remain up-to-date and functioning properly. This can include things like updating content, fixing any bugs or issues that arise, and making sure that the website is compatible with the latest web standards and technologies.
 
What platform will my new site be built on?
We build our sites on a proprietary website building platform that only digital agencies have access to and is specifically designed for building small business websites. We use Rackspace and AWS to provide reliable, rock-solid hosting and all of our sites include an SSL Certificate and are loaded on a 256-bit encrypted https: connection for added security.
 
Will my new website look good on smartphones?
Yes. All of the websites we design are built to be responsive, meaning that they will automatically adjust to fit the screen size of any device. This ensures that your website will look great and be easy to use on desktop computers, laptops, tablets, and smartphones.

Do you offer SEO optimization as part of your services?
Yes, we offer SEO optimization as part of our website design and development services. This includes optimizing the content and structure of your website to improve its visibility and ranking in search engine results pages.

Can I use my domain from my previous site?
Yes. It is generally possible to use a domain from your previous site for your new website as long as you still own it. Depending on your hosting provider, there may be a process or fee for transferring your domain to a new website. Our team will be happy to assist you.
 
Do you work with businesses outside of Williamsburg?
Yes, while our firm is located in Williamsburg, we happily work with clients all over the commonweath. Any communication can be done via phone, email or even a virtual meeting if necessary.
